ABSTRACT One of the most prevalent symptom and a major contributor to a number of lifestyle problems, including pancreatitis, fatty liver, cardiovascular diseases and many more is dyslipidemia. A class of lipoprotein metabolism disorders known as dyslipidemia involves either an excess or a shortage of lipoproteins or both. It is thought to be one of the main risk factor for atherosclerotic diseases, particularly heart disease. To evaluate the ayurvedic line of management to dyslipidemia a newly diagnosed case of dyslipidemia having an age of 40 years, particularly altered level of triglyceride along with obesity was treated with ayurvedic formulations and lifestyle modifications for 2 months. Biochemical parameter like lipid profile was carried out before and after treatment of 2 months. Lipid profile and subjective parameters of obesity are markedly improved at the end of treatment. No adverse drug reaction or undesirable effects were observed in the patient during the treatment. Hence, lifestyle modification has a major role in the management of dyslipidemia along with basic ayurvedic formulations. The formulations which correct both digestion and metabolism are sufficient to treat dyslipidemia.
