AbstractAn extensive survey was undertaken during 2024-25 in the Tirupati and Chittoor districts of Andhra Pradesh and Madurai and Virudhunagar districts of Tamil Nadu to explore the aphid fauna associated with pulse and oilseed crop ecosystems. The study recorded Brachycaudus amygdalinus for the first time from India. Fourteen aphid species viz., Aphis achyranthi (Theobald), Aphis asclepiadis (del Guercio), Aphis nasturtii (Kaltenbach), Aphis punicae (Passerini), Aphis rumicis (Linnaeus), Aphis spiraecola (Patch), Aphis verbasci (Schrank), Acyrthosiphon gossypii (Mordvilko), Acyrthosiphon rubi (Narzikulov), Brachycaudus amygdalinus (Schouteden), Brachycaudus helichrysi (Kaltenbach), Brachycaudus rumexicolens (Patch), Myzus dycei (Carver) and Sitobion leelamaniae (David) were reported for the first time from Andhra Pradesh and Similarly, Ten aphid species viz., Aphis achyranthi (Theobald), Aphis asclepiadis (del Guercio), Aphis rumicis (Linnaeus), Aphis spiraecola (Patch), Aphis verbasci (Schrank), Acyrthosiphon rubi (Narzikulov), Brachycaudus helichrysi (Kaltenbach), Brachycaudus rumexicolens (Patch), Myzus dycei (Carver) and Sitobion leelamaniae (David) were reported for the first time from Tamil Nadu.
