The Digital India initiative, launched in 2015, represents a transformative vision to transform India intoa digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. At its core lies e- governance, leveraging informationand communication technologies (ICT) to enhance government service delivery, ensure transparency, and fostercitizen engagement. This research paper examines the evolution, key pillars, implementation challenges, andsocio-economic impact of e-governance under Digital India. It analyzes flagship initiatives, evaluates theireffectiveness using case studies, and proposes recommendations for sustainable digital governance.
