Artistic tourism, an engaging fusion of art, culture, and travel, offers a unique pathway for cultural enrichment and leisure exploration amidst the diverse array of global cultures. This form of travel combines art, heritage, and creativity, providing tourists with immersive experiences that delve into the essence of a destination through its artistic expressions. This study was conducted based on a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of artistic tourism, aiming to provide a global perspective on its scholarly context. Therefore, the research adopted advanced bibliometric techniques, including co-citation analysis and network mapping, in order to unravel the various aspects of artistic tourism literature, tracing its evolution over time, identifying influential contributors, and defining thematic boundaries. The results revealed a growing trajectory of scientific interest in artistic tourism, reflecting its evolution from its origins in cultural and heritage tourism to recognition as a distinct field of study. Major cultural events, museum inaugurations, and increased government support for art as a tourist attraction, have contributed to this growth, highlighting art’s significant role in enriching tourism experiences. Furthermore, the digital revolution and the global pandemic have propelled the field into exploring digital engagement and virtual art experiences, expanding the scope of artistic tourism research.
