Field research stations in Nigeria are essential for agricultural development but their effectiveness varies. A mixed-methods approach including surveys, interviews, and statistical analysis of yield data was employed. The study revealed that the randomized field trial significantly improved crop yields by an average of 15% in the control group compared to a baseline scenario (95% confidence interval). Field research stations can be optimised for greater impact, particularly through targeted yield improvement measures. Investment should be prioritised in infrastructure and training programmes at these stations to enhance their effectiveness. The empirical specification follows Y=₀+^ X+, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
