The Oceania and Asia Data Roundtable 3, hosted by the Research Data Alliance (RDA) on 5 February, brought together members of the APAC data community to share regional updates, experiences in research data and data sharing, and to strengthen connections across the region. During the event, Mohamad shared an overview of the DataCite community, highlighting the role of persistent identifiers (PIDs) and metadata in building trusted research infrastructure. He also discussed challenges around PID adoption in some emerging communities and shared APAC-based use cases, including the National Research Council of Thailand leading a DataCite consortium in Thailand.
