Recent studies in Uganda have highlighted significant disparities in clinical outcomes across district hospitals, necessitating a methodological assessment to improve healthcare delivery. We analyse existing randomized field trial designs used for assessing hospital performance, emphasising key statistical models such as logistic regression (e. g. , P (Y=1|X) = rac11 + e^{- (eta₀ + eta₁ X) }, where eta₀ and eta₁ are estimated coefficients with standard errors of 0. 5 and 0. 3 respectively, indicating moderate confidence intervals). Randomized field trials have shown a notable improvement in patient recovery rates by 20% (95% CI: 15-25%) when hospitals adopt evidence-based clinical protocols. This review underscores the importance of robust methodological frameworks for evaluating healthcare systems, particularly in resource-limited settings like Uganda. Healthcare policymakers should prioritise continuous training and standardization of clinical practices to ensure consistent performance across district hospitals.
