Ferdowsi's Shahnameh is one of the most prominent poems in the world and a comprehensive mirror of Iranian history, culture, and art, and the book Alf Lailat Walilat is considered one of the greatest literary works in the world, which is a collection of old stories and legends from Arabic, Iranian, and Indian cultures. One of the legendary tales in this work is Al-Tajjar Ma' Al-Afirit, whose events and adventures are based on legends and supernatural forces. In this research, the author seeks to examine and compare the story of Zal and Simorgh in Shahnameh with the story of Al-Tajjar Ma' Al-Afirit in Alf Lailat Walilat, using a descriptive-analytical method and a comparative approach. The results of the research show that there are similarities between these two works in plot, dialogue, and supernatural and supernatural events. In the Shahnameh, there is a connection between man and the Simorgh, the nurse, and in the tale of the Merchant and the Demon, this connection is seen between the merchant and the three elders, protectors and guides.
