Emergency care units in South Africa are crucial for managing critical health events efficiently. However, there is a need to evaluate their effectiveness systematically. The study employs a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative (panel-data estimation) and qualitative insights to evaluate the performance of emergency care units in South Africa. Panel data analysis revealed that over 70% of patients who received timely treatment had improved clinical outcomes compared to those without prompt intervention, indicating effective system response. This study underscores the importance of continuous monitoring and improvement in emergency care systems for enhancing patient outcomes. Healthcare authorities should prioritise training programmes for medical staff and invest in infrastructure upgrades to further optimise emergency care delivery. Emergency Care, South Africa, Clinical Outcomes, Panel Data Analysis Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
