The digital payment platforms (DPPs) in Nigeria have emerged as a critical tool for financial inclusion, particularly among small-scale farmers who are often geographically isolated and economically marginalized. The study employs a mixed-method approach, incorporating both qualitative interviews with farmer representatives and quantitative analysis of existing data from DPP records. The theoretical framework underscores the role of DPPs in fostering greater market participation among small-scale farmers by reducing transaction costs and improving accessibility to formal financial systems. Policymakers should consider incentivizing the adoption of digital payment platforms through subsidies or training programmes, thereby promoting broader economic integration for rural communities.
