Solar cookstoves have been introduced in rural Ethiopia to address energy needs and improve health outcomes through reduced cooking time. A qualitative study was conducted in selected villages using ethnographic methods including interviews and observation to understand user experiences. Solar cookstoves were adopted by 75% of participants, reducing average cooking time from 4 hours to 2 hours per meal. The adoption of solar cookstoves has led to significant reductions in household energy expenditure and improved family health outcomes. Public health campaigns should promote the use of solar cookstoves alongside education on their benefits and proper usage.
