AbstractPhysics Forceps are a modern dental extraction tool designed to minimize trauma by using a controlled, slow luxation technique, unlike traditional forceps that rely on direct mechanical force. This systematic review compares the efficacy of Physics Forceps to Conventional Forceps in dental extractions, using data from randomized controlled trials. A search of PubMed, MEDLINE, and Google Scholar identified 17 relevant studies published between 2013 and 2023. Results show that Physics Forceps significantly reduce extraction time, post-operative pain, swelling, and complications like root and alveolar bone fractures. They also cause less soft tissue trauma and preserve alveolar bone better than conventional forceps. Although they require a learning curve and higher upfront cost, Physics Forceps offer superior long-term outcomes, making them a valuable tool for atraumatic extractions.
