The present article tries to draw a small picture of the folk-drama prevailed in India. The history and the development of folk-theatre have also been discussed in it. The last section of this article throws light upon the short description of the folk-drama of West Bengal. The main tune inherent in all these folk-dramas in India is religion and spirituality. The common people of India observe religious rites and rituals in spite of their pecuniary hindrances and other obstacles. The readers will be overwhelmed by the unity in diversity of our cultural spectrums spread across the Indian subcontinent.
