Transport maintenance depots (TMDs) play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of transport systems in Ethiopia. A stratified random sampling approach was employed to select depots for the study. Data were collected using structured surveys and observational checks over six months. The analysis revealed that approximately 75% of randomly selected TMDs adopted new maintenance protocols, with significant improvements in vehicle readiness rates (80-90%). This randomized field trial provides insights into the potential for increasing adoption and operational efficiency of TMD systems. Further research should explore long-term sustainability and scalability of these practices across different regions of Ethiopia. The maintenance outcome was modelled as Y₈ₓ=₀+₁X₈ₓ+uᵢ+₈ₓ, with robustness checked using heteroskedasticity-consistent errors.
