This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of district hospitals in Tanzania by applying a quasi-experimental design. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative measures with qualitative insights will be employed. Data from pre- and post-intervention periods will be analysed using a regression discontinuity design (RDD) model, where Yᵢ = eta₀ + eta₁Dᵢ + uᵢ to estimate the impact of interventions on efficiency. The preliminary analysis suggests an improvement in service delivery by 25% following intervention measures, with significant reductions in patient wait times and increased resource utilization. This study validates the effectiveness of the quasi-experimental design for evaluating healthcare system improvements in Tanzania. Based on findings, district hospitals should prioritise training programmes to enhance staff efficiency and further implement evidence-based interventions to improve overall service quality.
