As buildings age and become larger and more complex, the management environment for fire protection systems has become increasingly complicated. Consequently, the demand for fire- control systems with remote-control functions for fire alarm control panels has grown. However, current technical standards and type approval frameworks do not clearly define the performance requirements or verification schemes for these functions, raising concerns about potential safety gaps. In this study, the requirements related to remote access and remote control in international standards, including NFPA 72 and PD CLC/TS 50136-10 were comparatively analyzed, focusing on management and control–oriented aspects such as access authority, control scope, authentication, and session management. Based on this analysis, a direction for performance criteria for remote control of fire alarm control panels was proposed, taking into account the structural characteristics of the domestic approval system.
