As we close the chapters of another remarkable year in the field of periodontology, it gives me immense pride and joy to reflect on the many milestones we have achieved together. The year has been one of significant growth, innovation and collaboration, all made possible by collective efforts of our esteemed members, researchers, clinicians and collaborators. First and foremost, we have witnessed the continued expansion of knowledge in periodontology. Our scientific community has flourished through groundbreaking research, clinical advancements, and the application of cutting-edge technologies. Whether it was the successful implementation of novel periodontal therapies, or the rise of regenerative practices, we have contributed to push the boundaries of what is possible in our field. The exceptional contributions made by our research scholars both in India and abroad, have reaffirmed the critical role periodontics plays in oral health and overall well-being. Our society’s commitment to advancing education was also evident this year. Various conferences, scientific programs, and workshops conducted under the banner of the I.S.P. (Indian Society of Periodontology) have served as key platforms for learning and sharing knowledge. The landmark event of the year was the “Golden Jubilee Conference” at New Delhi, from 17th to 20th December, which marked the 50 glorious years of our society’s resolute commitment in advancing the science and practice of periodontology in India. As a special gesture, the last four issues of the current year featured the guest columns from the likes of Dr.Jorgen Slots, Dr.Mark Bartold, Dr. Dimitris Tatakis and Dr.Philip Preshaw. I.S.P. and the entire editorial board of J.I.S.P. (Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology) is grateful to them for their contributions and good wishes on the occasion of Golden jubilee conference. However, none of these accomplishments would have been possible without the tireless support and dedication of our members. From the seasoned professionals to the young enthusiasts, everyone contributed in some way to the growth of our society. In a significant move, during the executive committee meeting of I.S.P. held in December 2025 at New Delhi, following important decisions regarding J.I.S.P. were taken and they have already been implemented: 1. From the year 2026 onwards, the print issues of JISP shall be available only on paid subscription. However, the online version of J.I.S.P. shall continue to be available for free access. The authors whose manuscripts gets published in J.I.S.P. shall get complimentary copies of those particular issues. The above decision was taken as the house was of the opinion that in the current era of digitalization, when a reader can have easy access through online mode, it can save lot many trees (by saving paper) and lower carbon footprint, which aligns with ecofriendly initiatives and save a lot of money for the society that can be redirected to other activities of I.S.P. For the similar reasons many other national and international journals belonging to medical professional societies have already adopted the online mode of journal access to their readers. 2. In order to further strengthen the quality of the journal, J.I.S.P. shall be made quarterly from 2026 onwards i.e. only four issues of J.I.S.P., every year As we throw the curtain on another productive year, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to the growth and credibility of the J.I.S.P. Sincerest thanks to the authors for their scholarly submissions, the reviewers for their meticulous and selfless efforts, the publishers and support staff for ensuring timely and high quality publication. Special words of appreciation for Dr. Abhinav Bhasker for his altruistic and resolute support, ever since he has taken over the charge of Assistant Editor. I am equally grateful to the I.S.P. head office for its constant encouragement and unwavering support. The coming year promises renewed commitment and progressive improvements. I look forward to enhancing the scientific vigour, visibility and global reach of the journal through refined processes, timely publications and enriched academic content with the continued support and collaboration of our readers and contributors, I am confident that the journal will scale greater heights in the year ahead. I thank you all for your trust and patronage and wish everyone a fulfilling and very successful 2026.
