The placement process and alumni engagement are critical activities in academic institutions, directly influencing student career outcomes and institutional reputation. Traditional placement systems rely on manual processes, spreadsheets, and fragmented tools, leading to data redundancy, communication delays, and poor scalability. This literaturereview analyzes ten research papers (2020–2025) on web-based placement and alumnimanagement systems, evaluating their technologies, automation, and integration frameworks. A comparative study is presented between existing solutions and the proposedIntegrated College Placement Cell Portal, a Django-based web application with rolebased access for six stakeholders, automated eligibility verification, centralized databasemanagement, and real-time reporting. Findings show that current systems focus on eitherplacement management or alumni networking, lacking full integration, automation, mobileaccessibility, and unified architecture. The proposed system addresses these gaps through amodular MVT design, SQLite3/PostgreSQL database, responsive Bootstrap interface, andintegrated alumni module, highlighting its unique contribution to educational technology. Keywords: Placement Management System, Alumni Management, Django Framework, Web Application, Role-Based Access Control, Literature Review, Comparative Analysis, Educational Technology.
