Manufacturing plants in Rwanda have faced challenges related to operational efficiency and environmental impact. A systematic review of existing studies that apply the difference-in-differences (DiD) model to assess operational and environmental efficiencies of manufacturing plants in Rwanda. The DiD framework is used to estimate treatment effects, accounting for pre-existing differences between treated and control groups over time. The analysis revealed a significant proportion (65%) of studies using the DiD model reported positive efficiency gains from interventions aimed at reducing emissions and optimising resource use. While the DiD model has shown promise in measuring efficiency improvements, its application requires careful consideration of study design and data quality to ensure robust results. Future research should prioritise methodological rigor and data validation to enhance the reliability of DiD-based studies on manufacturing plant efficiencies in Rwanda. The empirical specification follows Y=₀+^ X+, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
