Gender-based violence (GBV) in Nairobi slums has significant impacts on school participation among adolescent girls and boys. A mixed-methods approach will be employed, including literature reviews, interviews with stakeholders, and secondary data analysis of existing studies on GBV and education outcomes. The theoretical framework identifies key mediators such as psychosocial support services, community engagement, and policy advocacy as essential components for effective GBV prevention efforts. Policy makers should integrate these identified mediators into their strategies to enhance the effectiveness of GBV prevention programmes in schools.
