This study presents a scholarly verification and juristic examination of al-Jawhara al-Maḍmūna، a commentary authored by Imam al-Raḍī al-Rūmī on the juristic poetic mandhūma composed by Imam al-Nasafī on legal disagreement، specifically concerning the legal opinions of Imam Mālik in the chapters of almsgiving (zakāh)، fasting (ṣawm)، and pilgrimage (ḥajj). The research aims to revive a rare work from the Ḥanafī legal heritage that addresses the articulation of juristic disagreement with the Mālikī school، and to highlight the methodology of early jurists in presenting proofs، engaging in debate، and establishing legal preference (tarjīḥ). The study opens with an introductory section profiling the scholarly biographies of both authors، supported by statements of leading jurists، while clarifying the points of divergence between the Ḥanafī and Mālikī schools. It also surveys the manuscript copies of the treatise، compares them، identifies the primary relied-upon manuscript، and outlines the transcription methods and editorial symbols used according to established rules of orthography and punctuation. The verified portion of the text presents the issues of zakāh، fasting، and pilgrimage in accordance with the sequence adopted by Imam al-Nasafī، followed by al-Rūmī’s commentary. It expounds the Mālikī evidences for each issue، the Ḥanafī responses، the areas of agreement and disagreement، and includes well-supported legal preferences drawn from authoritative juristic sources. The verification further includes accurate text establishment، documentation of evidences، authentication of juristic opinions from primary references، and commentary on difficult or ambiguous passages.
