Abstract

The Actual Source Area (ASA) of a bending magnet in the infrared range, has been calculated for the ϕ-factory DAPHNE under construction at Frascati. 'Geometrical' broadening has been included. The Actual Brilliance Ratio (ABR) defined as the ratio between the brilliance of a synchrotron source and that of a blackbody, has been also evaluated for DAPHNE and compared with the Brookhaven NSLS source.
