Assessment of the impact of proposed works on the building and on nearby heritage assets. In heritage terms the proposals are entirely positive and in line with current conservation policy. The date of the cow shed is not clear cut, given the amount of fabric that post-dates 1948. The extensive repairs and alterations mean it is considered that little, if any, original fabric survives. The proposed development will enhance the experience of the setting in that it involves the removal of a number of detracting factors and the opening of views to and from historic buildings, making them visible and accessible to more people. The proposed works and the design of the proposed buildings are sympathetic to the farmyard setting and heritage assets. The works are also in accordance with the way in which the layout of the farmyard, the buildings and their surroundings has evolved as changes in agricultural practice have dictated.
