Theatre and performance in West Africa have long served as a platform for social commentary on various issues affecting communities. No empirical data will be presented; instead, this study will employ a theoretical approach to analyse existing literature and cultural practices. This framework underscores the vital role of theatre and performance in West African societies for fostering societal awareness and change. Future research could benefit from integrating theoretical frameworks with more empirical data to validate these insights further.
