Artificial intelligence (AI) implementation is a new perspective on the education, school administration, and learning. The article is a profound, systematized exploration of AI role in contemporary education, though its subject matter is broken down into three areas: tools, applications, and challenges. We are going to talk about the popular AI-based systems, such as adaptive learning systems, automated assessment tools and intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) and merge empirical data obtained in the recent case studies to estimate their effectiveness in practice. The topics of the review are the algorithms, math problems, moral problems, and the evolving relations between the teacher and the student. We examine how AI can enhance the individualization as well as scaling, but it is often problematic to execute as a result of technical challenges, lack of the infrastructure, and stringent social and ethical issues. The paper concludes with the strategic recommendations to the future studies, whereby it is necessary to implement robust sets of ethics, balanced policies in policy-making, and people-friendly designs of AI to ensure the advancement in science positively changes the fate of learning among all stakeholders. Educators, policymakers, and researchers will find the article as source of information about the complexity of AI in education.
