Cash transfer programmes (CTPs) are a popular intervention in developing countries to address poverty and inequality, often targeting early childhood development (ECD). In Egypt, urban slums present unique challenges for ECD programming. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, including literature review, qualitative case studies, and econometric modelling to analyse existing data from Egyptian urban slums. This framework highlights the importance of integrating CTPs with other interventions like childcare facilities and parental education programmes to maximise benefits for children's development. Policy-makers should consider tailoring CTPs to local contexts, ensuring that they are part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at improving ECD outcomes in Egyptian urban slums.
