Hindi version and Indian adaptation of Mooney's Problem Check-list (.Jr.h.s.) is administered on 591 Urban, 199 Semi-urban and 148 rural Hindu Ss in late Childhood and preadolescence (9 to 14 yrs) of IV to IX school classes.Caste-wise analysis on all the 7 areas of adjustment reveals that Urban Community is less prone to differential caste-influences and pr~judices and thus it was discovered that there is practically no significant differences in mean problems of adjustment for different caste-comparisons.In semi-urban and rural areas also the same trend is observed.I t seems that in urban and rural areas the caste-restrictions are losing their grip and social distance is being reduced.
