Bangladeshi school and college students spend too much time on social media, but we don’t have good local data about how it affects their daily habits. This study surveyed 120 students from Nārāyanganj/Dhaka area (60 school, 60 college) using Google Forms in February 2026. Students average 6.5 hours daily on social media. 50% don’t sleep before 2 AM, getting only 5.2 hours sleep per night. More social media time means less sleep and less study time. TikTok (48%) and Facebook (32%) are most popular. 72% get distracted often while studying. College students use more (7.2 hours) than school students (5.8 hours). We grouped students into light users (good sleep/study habits) and heavy users (sleep deprived) using clustering analysis. Python handled the data analysis with simple charts and correlations. Half our students stay up late scrolling, ruining sleep and grades. Schools should limit apps after 10 PM. Parents need to monitor screen time. Self-reported data might not be 100% accurate. Future studies should track actual phone usage. Social media addiction is destroying BD students’ habits—we need action now.
