Urban Senegalese girls face challenges in academic performance due to nutritional deficiencies. A longitudinal study design was employed with pre- and post-intervention assessments using standardised educational tests. Nutritional status improved significantly after intervention (mean increase in hemoglobin levels by 12 g/L), leading to a notable rise in school performance scores (average improvement of 5% in test scores). Nutrition interventions are effective in enhancing school performance among urban Senegalese girls. Schools and communities should prioritise nutritional support programmes for adolescent girls.
