The archaeological monitoring and recording comprised the observation by a competent archaeologist of all intrusive groundworks associated with the proposed development. These works comprised machine excavation for an infiltration basin (Area 1) and the stripping of topsoil for an access road (Area 2). In August and September 2025, Cotswold Archaeology carried out archaeological monitoring and recording during groundworks associated with the construction of an infiltration basin on land off Clevedon Road, Tickenham, North Somerset. A buried soil horizon was recorded within the southern part of the observed groundworks, with two sherds of pottery dating to the 3rd to 4th-century AD recovered, alongside a modern coin; a single sherd of 12th 13th-century pottery was recovered from the subsoil horizon. No further features or deposits of archaeological interest were observed.
