The relevance of the study is due to the system-forming role of construction in the formation of the gross regional product, investment activity, and social infrastructure of the region, as well as the increasing structural risks in the context of instability, staff shortages, and rising prices in the construction materials market. The object of the study is the construction industry of the region as an economic system, and the subject is a set of indicators reflecting the production, investment, personnel, and socio-economic dynamics. The study provides a comprehensive assessment of the current state of the construction industry in the Kostroma Region based on indicator analysis. Based on official statistical data, key positive and negative factors were identified that characterize the conditions for the development of the construction industry in the region. The values of indicator indicators were interpreted. The paper concludes that there is structural instability, but there is still potential for growth associated with the implementation of national projects and the development of domestic construction materials production. The results can be used in the development of regional strategies for the construction industry and in government regulation practices.
