Taking the traditional performing arts club activities at Beijing Union University as a case study, this paper explores innovative pathways for applying intangible cultural heritage in aesthetic education at applied universities. Focusing on the application of Tongzhou Canal boatmen's chants in club activities, this study analyzes the significance of university aesthetic education in empowering the transmission of intangible cultural heritage and proposes innovative development strategies. Through localized reconstruction of course content, creative design of teaching methods, and expanded experiential activities, the modern transformation of intangible cultural heritage is promoted. Practice demonstrates that these strategies effectively enhance students' understanding and engagement with intangible cultural heritage, strengthen cultural confidence and innovative capabilities, and provide valuable insights for the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage within university aesthetic education.
