Criminal behaviour in forensic contexts is a complex phenomenon influenced by psychological factors such as stress, trauma, and mental health issues. The study employed semi-structured interviews with forensic psychologists and offenders to understand their experiences and perspectives on crime. Themes emerged around trauma exposure, stress management strategies, and perceptions of justice system fairness in shaping criminal behaviour. Qualitative insights suggest that addressing psychological vulnerabilities could improve rehabilitation outcomes for offenders in Nigeria's forensic environment. Forensic practitioners should integrate mental health support into existing interventions to mitigate risk factors associated with crime.
