The study examines the legal framework governing refugees and asylum seekers in East Africa within Egyptian jurisprudence. Qualitative research methods will be employed to analyse primary legal documents and secondary scholarly literature, including court decisions, government reports, and international treaties relevant to refugee law in Egypt. A notable finding is the significant disparity between formal legal provisions and practical implementation regarding asylum seekers' housing rights, with a proportion of cases resulting in inadequate accommodation solutions. The study highlights challenges in enforcing existing legal protections for refugees and suggests areas for reform to improve their living conditions. Egypt should strengthen its legal framework by aligning it more closely with international standards and enhancing enforcement mechanisms to ensure that refugee rights are upheld.
