This study examines the adoption of organic fertilizers among tea farmers in Nyerere District, Tanzania, with a focus on understanding its impacts over three years. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions with farmers in Nyerere District. Data collection occurred over three consecutive years to capture changes in adoption rates and outcomes. There is a significant increase (30%) in the proportion of tea farmers adopting organic fertilizers compared to baseline levels, indicating improved soil health and productivity. The study highlights that targeted policy interventions are crucial for fostering wider adoption of sustainable farming practices among tea farmers in Nyerere District. Policy recommendations include subsidizing organic fertilizer inputs, enhancing farmer education programmes on the benefits of sustainable farming, and establishing community-based support networks to facilitate knowledge sharing.
