Sustainable development initiatives in Mali have faced challenges due to a complex legal framework that often fails to align with current environmental and social needs. An action research approach was employed, involving consultations with local stakeholders and an analysis of available legislative documents. Findings indicate a significant gap between the current legal framework's directive towards sustainability and its actual implementation practices. The existing legal frameworks in Mali are insufficient for sustainable development goals. Recommendations include revising certain laws to better align with environmental and social objectives. Reform efforts should focus on integrating more comprehensive and enforceable policies into the current legal framework.
