This study examines the political economy of natural resource extraction in Guinea-Bissau within the broader context of Central Africa's African Studies. Qualitative research methods were employed, including interviews with community leaders, officials, and resource managers; document analysis of governmental reports and contracts; and secondary data from international organizations. The analysis revealed a significant disparity in revenue distribution favoring foreign companies over local populations, leading to widespread discontent among affected communities. This research underscores the need for more equitable resource management practices to mitigate adverse social impacts and promote sustainable development in Guinea-Bissau. Inclusive governance structures should be established, with a focus on transparency and accountability. Community participation in decision-making processes is also recommended to ensure fair distribution of benefits from natural resources.
