Abstract This article presents information on the accounting course "Accounting Services to Management," offered at the University of Florida. This is a study of the role of the certified public accountant as a consultant in various functions of his clients' business. It is a consideration in depth of practiced methods and techniques used in rendering the services. Certainly the accounting faculty of the University of Florida recognizes that a one semester course cannot train a management services specialist. The format of the course is based on the recognition stated previously that the management-services specialist can not be trained in approximately 40 classroom hours. However, a good start can be made in the students' education in this field. The course will be modified as our experience grows. In addition, the source material, and to some extent the subjects covered, will have to be changed from time to time to keep abreast of new developments in this fast-growing field. Once the student has reviewed and added to his background knowledge, there is a lecture and group discussion of the subject area. A high degree of student participation is expected, based upon a great deal of individual work.
