The origin of Earth's oceans and the rapid emergence of complex biospheres remain central unresolved paradoxes in planetary science. Prevailing consensus attributes the terrestrial volatile inventory to exogenous delivery via a Late Heavy Bombardment of icy comets and carbonaceous chondrites. However, rigorous isotopic constraints—including severe Deuterium/Hydrogen (D/H) mismatches and the Xenon paradox—coupled with the thermal annihilation of volatiles during hypervelocity impacts, increasingly render this abiotic model untenable. This preprint introduces a novel, biologically driven paradigm: Biogenic Atmospheric Terraforming (BAT). We propose that life is not a passive, fragile recipient of a pre-existing habitable environment, but rather the active, primary astrophysical agent of planetary engineering. Key mechanisms and theoretical frameworks explored in this paper include: Interstellar Transit and Macroscopic Vectors: Utilizing the survival mechanics of polyextremophiles and the cryptobiotic 'tun' state of tardigrades, we model how macroscopic vectors survive lithopanspermia, delivering a highly diverse, vitrified "virtual zoo" of microbial consortia to the hostile atmospheres of nascent worlds. The Archaean Atmospheric Bioreactor: Extrapolating from the temperate, chemically anomalous cloud decks of modern Venus, we model the heavily reducing Archaean Earth atmosphere as a globally distributed biochemical reactor. Enzymatic Water Synthesis: Airborne microbial ecosystems engage in massive-scale hydrogenotrophic methanogenesis and anaerobic oxidation of methane. By utilizing outgassed volcanic volatiles (CO2, H2) and trace metals (Ni, Mo) from aerosolized Plinian ash, these biomes exergonically synthesize the volumetric equivalent of the global oceans. The Biological Heat-Pipe and Virga Cooling: Biogenic water acts as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN), radically altering planetary albedo and cooling the molten Hadean crust via a latent-heat virga precipitation mechanism. Front-Loaded Genomics and the Planetary Internet: Applying algorithmic information theory, we posit that non-coding "junk DNA" is actually highly compressed planetary bootstrap code. Planetary viromes and Horizontal Gene Transfer act as a biological internet, epigenetically unmasking latent regulatory networks to orchestrate the progressive deployment of higher trophic levels (e.g., the Cambrian Explosion) as environmental triggers are met. Exoplanetary Falsifiability: We provide distinct, testable predictions for observing this biogenic terraforming phase in young Sub-Neptunes and Super-Earths using the transmission spectroscopy capabilities of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The BAT hypothesis integrates atmospheric thermodynamics, microbial enzymology, and algorithmic information theory to present a sweeping vision of biology as an aggressive, intrinsic thermodynamic property of the cosmos. This framework also offers a novel, biological resolution to the Fermi Paradox.
