The issue of character creation has always been one of the central problems of literary studies, especially in the analysis of narrative prose. The artistic depiction of human personality, internal psychological states, and social experiences forms the foundation of realistic literature. Uzbek literature of the twentieth century produced many writers who significantly contributed to the development of prose, among whom Shukur Kholmirzayev occupies a special place. This article analyzes the artistic mastery of character creation in the stories of Shukur Kholmirzayev. The research focuses on the techniques used by the writer to construct literary characters, the role of psychological description, and the influence of social and cultural contexts on the formation of character. Particular attention is given to the writer’s narrative style, the use of dialogue and internal monologue, and the depiction of everyday life in rural and urban environments. The study demonstrates that the characters in Kholmirzayev’s stories are distinguished by their authenticity, psychological depth, and social relevance. The writer successfully combines realism with subtle artistic observation, enabling readers to perceive the characters not merely as fictional figures but as representations of real human experiences. As a result, the article highlights the importance of Shukur Kholmirzayev’s creative legacy in the development of modern Uzbek prose and emphasizes the significance of character depiction in literary art.
