Recent policy reforms in arts and humanities across East Africa have aimed to address issues of cultural diversity and heritage preservation. The study employed a qualitative research approach, analysing policy documents, interviews with stakeholders, and case studies to explore policy effectiveness and challenges. Findings indicate that while there is an increasing emphasis on heritage preservation, the actual implementation of these policies often falls short in terms of funding and community engagement. Current arts and humanities policies in Morocco must be re-evaluated with a greater focus on community involvement and sustainable resource allocation to ensure effective policy outcomes. Recommendation for policymakers includes increased investment in local communities, fostering public-private partnerships, and enhancing cross-disciplinary collaboration.
