The Sahel region in Equatorial Guinea is facing significant climate change impacts, which threaten human security. A qualitative approach was employed to analyse existing literature and expert interviews for understanding climate change impacts. Water scarcity has reduced agricultural productivity by around 20% in key farming regions of the Sahel, affecting local livelihoods. Climate change exacerbates existing vulnerabilities, particularly among rural communities who rely heavily on agriculture and pastoral activities. Enhanced early warning systems for drought should be developed to mitigate water scarcity impacts. Improved agricultural support programmes are also needed.
