Security is an increasing concern in homes and offices today, with an increasing number of thefts, unauthorized access, and safety concerns. This paper proposes an intelligent motion detection-based security system that uses a Passive Infrared sensor along with GSM communication. This system is based on an Arduino board that acts as the brain of the system, controlling all the operations. It uses a Passive Infrared sensor that can detect infrared radiation from human bodies. As soon as an individual enters the protected area, the sensor detects the motion and sends a signal to the Arduino board. It then processes the signal and sends an SMS to the mobile device of the authorized person. This system is easy to install, consumes less power, and is cost-effective. It is easy to set up in homes, offices, shops, warehouses, etc. It is simple, reliable, and cost-effective in comparison to traditional CCTV-based security systems.
