Eastern Motives, Socio-Political Environment and Human Tragedy in the Novels of Chingiz AItmatov

Annotation. The outstanding writer Chingiz Aitmatov made an exceptional contribution to the strengthening of Azerbaijani-Kyrgyz literary ties. Various social-philosophical problems raised by the writer in stories and novels are national and humane in nature. However, these problems of the personality and society, the moral freedom of the individual, the relationship between nature and man, the causes of human catastrophes and others require comprehensive research and solutions, especially in his artistic novels of the prose writer. In Chingiz Aitmatov's work, the national factor is manifested in the form of high and deep human qualities, born from the common Turkic spirit, Kyrgyz ethnic thought. The main aim of the article is to examine Eastern motifs, the socio-political environment, and the theme of human tragedy in Aitmatov’s novels, as well as to determine their artistic and philosophical significance. The research employs textological, comparative literary, and analytical methods, which make it possible to analyze the artistic structure of the works and reveal their ideological content. The study concludes that in Aitmatov’s novels Eastern cultural traditions are organically combined with deep socio-philosophical reflections on reality. Through the destinies of his characters, the writer portrays the tragedy of the individual within complex historical and social circumstances, emphasizing the importance of preserving spiritual values, national memory, and humanistic ideals.
