The rapid expansion of the Information Technology (IT) industry in India has increased the importance of effective human resource management within organizations. IT companies depend heavily on skilled professionals, making human resources one of the most valuable assets for organizational success. However, HR managers in the IT sector face several challenges related to recruitment, employee retention, work-life balance, and employee motivation. This study examines the major HR challenges faced in Indian IT companies, focusing on factors such as employee turnover, skill shortages, workplace stress, and communication issues. The study adopted a quantitative research approach. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire from employees working in IT companies. A total of 150 valid responses were analysed using descriptive statistical techniques based on a five-point Likert scale. The findings indicate that HR departments face significant challenges in recruiting skilled professionals, retaining talented employees, and maintaining employee satisfaction. Factors such as work pressure, career expectations, and technological changes influence employee engagement and performance. The study concludes that effective HR strategies such as training programs, employee engagement initiatives, and supportive workplace policies are essential to overcome HR challenges and improve organizational productivity in IT companies.
