This deliverable summarises findings from Task 2.5, which assessed the knowledge needs of farmers transitioning to organic production and gathered AKIS stakeholder views on innovation priorities, barriers and motivations. Farmers—mainly livestock producers—identified key gaps in understanding EU policies, organic standards, labour‑saving tools, and livestock nutrition and health, as well as interest in innovations such as pasture management, organic fattening, direct sales, weed control and soil improvement. AKIS discussions highlighted major differences across countries: Poland, Bulgaria and Lithuania face limited organic market development and advisory capacity, while Spain and Ireland report fewer obstacles. The results underscore the need for country‑specific recommendations, broaden the range of relevant AKIS actors, and emphasise consumer awareness and education as essential drivers of organic sector growth.
