Abstract Aim and Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of implementing the Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocol in benign gynecological surgeries and to compare its outcomes with conventional care by analyzing length of hospital stay (LOS), postoperative complications, patient adherence, and readmission rates. Background: The ERAS protocol is an evidence-based approach that replaces conventional perioperative practices with strategies designed to reduce surgical stress, thereby promoting faster recovery through preoperative counseling, intraoperative optimization, and early postoperative mobilization. This study evaluates the implementation of the ERAS protocol in gynecological surgeries, focusing on hospital stay duration, complications, patient adherence, and readmission rates to assess its feasibility for future adoption at our institute. Materials and Methods: This randomized control trial was conducted on 100 patients posted for benign gynecological surgeries. Samples were randomly placed in two groups: patients following ERAS protocol and those following conventional protocol. The feasibility of implementing ERAS in our institute was assessed, and the following outcomes, like effect of ERAS on LOS, postoperative complications, patient’s adherence to protocol, and readmission rates were also measured. Results: Baseline characteristics were comparable between ERAS and conventional groups. Patients in the ERAS group demonstrated significantly shorter hospital stays, faster tolerance of diet, and earlier return of gastrointestinal function. Conclusion: Implementation of the ERAS protocol significantly improves patient satisfaction, facilitates early recovery, and reduces overall cost of care.
