Methodological Evaluation of Regional Monitoring Networks in Senegal: A Quasi-Experimental Assessment of Yield Improvement Systems

Regional monitoring networks in Senegal are crucial for assessing yield improvement systems across various agricultural sectors. A systematic literature review was conducted to analyse existing studies on regional monitoring networks in Senegal, focusing on yield improvement systems. The analysis included quantitative data from field trials and observational studies. The findings indicate that while the majority of networks use linear regression models for predicting yield improvements, there is significant variability in model accuracy due to differing environmental conditions across regions. While current methodologies provide valuable insights into regional agricultural performance, they are not universally applicable and require further refinement based on local specificities. Future research should focus on developing more localized models that account for regional variations in climate, soil quality, and other environmental factors to enhance the accuracy of yield predictions.
