This deliverable analyses the economic competitiveness of organic agribusiness across five case study countries—Bulgaria, Spain, Ireland, Lithuania and Poland. Using farmer survey data alongside PESTLE and SWOT frameworks, it evaluates both external factors (political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental) and internal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats affecting the sector. The analysis draws on national reports, specialised publications and databases, combined with farmers’ perceptions on issues such as input dependence, energy costs, land ownership, labour and technological development. The resulting diagnosis of each country’s organic sector provides strategic insights to guide subsequent Work Package activities, supporting actions aimed at improving the competitiveness of participating farms and the wider organic hubs involved in the project.
