The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has led to increased interest in its ethical implications and governance structures. A structured survey research approach was employed, involving interviews and questionnaires distributed across various sectors to gather data from stakeholders. The analysis revealed that approximately 65% of respondents perceived the lack of clear legal frameworks as a significant governance challenge for AI development in Nigeria. Despite challenges, there is growing awareness among policymakers and industry leaders about the need for better ethical guidelines and regulatory oversight for AI applications. Policymakers are encouraged to develop comprehensive legislative frameworks that incorporate ethical considerations and ensure accountability measures are in place.
